About the Mural

The Hamatsa Ceremony is a Kwakwaka'wakw winter festival associated with a potlatch that tells a complicated spiritual story in music, costuming and dance. This mural brings the iconography of this First Nations culture immediately to our community. It is from the viewpoint of a celebration inside a Greathouse.
